This free trade agreement, which came into effect in 2021, aims to break down barriers to the free movement of goods and services among 54 of the continent&#8217;s 55 countries. It thus fosters the establishment of a single, liberalized market, the movement of capital and human resources to facilitate investment, infrastructure development, and the creation of a continental customs union.<\/p>\n<h3>The position of professional firms in the context created by AfCFTA<\/h3>\n<p>The initiated process by AfCFTA is expected to lead to &#8220;a significant change in the regulatory regimes of each member state to achieve consistency and homogenization, resulting in a repositioning of firms in terms of strategy, distribution models, registration of intellectual property rights and other commercial considerations,&#8221; commented <a href=\"https:\/\/dev.andersen.dotandmedia.com\/professional\/andrea-de-vecchi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Andrea De Vecchi<\/a>, CEO of Andersen Italia and Co-Regional Managing Partner Europe, in the<strong><em>Il Sole 24 Ore<\/em> article<\/strong> dedicated to this issue.
