During the night (European time)<\/strong>, U.S. President Donald Trump<\/strong> signed an executive order<\/strong> that puts into effect the recently announced trade deal on tariffs<\/strong> with the European Union<\/strong>.
\nThis is a key step that transforms the political agreement<\/strong>, made in coordination with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen<\/strong>, into concrete trade measures<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

15% tariff cap on European goods<\/h2>\n

The deal introduces a 15% cap on U.S. tariffs<\/strong> for most European goods<\/strong>, applicable starting August 7, 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Although no specific exemptions have been granted yet, the European Commission<\/strong> has stated its intention to negotiate as many exemptions as possible<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
