Andersen signs an agreement with the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SRTIP)

25 February 2025 | Corporate News

Bringing 100 companies – including innovative startups and SMEs – to the United Arab Emirates by 2028. This is the goal set out in the Memorandum of Understanding signed by Andersen in Italy together with two other major Italian entities, Kilometro Rosso and Italiacamp.

By 2027, Andersen Italy will be tasked with attracting to Sharjah – the third-largest of the seven Emirates – 30 SMEs operating in sectors such as waste management, food security, space, robotics and automation, traffic management, logistics, AI-based diagnostics, patient journey, and mental health. These companies will establish their operations within the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SRTIP) science hub.

An ambitious challenge that Andrea De Vecchi, CEO of Andersen Italy and Co-Managing Partner for the European region of Andersen Global, commented on as follows: “Italian creativity is renowned worldwide, and our startups need innovative environments to grow and differentiate themselves. This partnership represents a virtuous example of innovation and development between Italian companies and the United Arab Emirates.”

The agreement with Andersen is part of a set of 30 commercial deals that will bring USD 40 billion in investments to selected Italian companies. The Memorandum was signed on 24 February during an event organised by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the UAE Ministries of Economy and Foreign Affairs, with the support of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti and SACE, and in collaboration with the Italian Trade Agency (ICE).

Established in 2016, SRTI Park’s mission is to promote research, technology, and innovation in various fields, including healthcare, energy, environment, and technology. Its aim is to create a collaborative platform enabling academic institutions, businesses, and government agencies to work together to foster innovation and entrepreneurship.

Members can access a wide range of facilities and services, including state-of-the-art laboratories, research and development infrastructure, training programs, and funding opportunities.
