Content published over time on the Internet: evidentiary effectiveness

The applications of digital databases containing information stored over time and contained in web pages that are no longer online provide a sufficient guarantee of the reliability of the service of archiving and “retrieval” of the stored data.
The Court of Appeals followed what had already been decided by the Tribunal and established that the screenshots produced through these applications – and therefore concerning the content of previously published pages – are a suitable tool to allow the recovery of evidence published online and subsequently deleted.
Therefore, the screenshots of the applications that archive sites on the Internet constitute valid and effective evidence and a useful tool to ascertain the various contents published over time.
