Cura Italia Decree: Emergency fund for entertainment, cinema and audiovisual

The entertainment, cinema and audiovisual sectors are certainly among those most affected by the health emergency and the consequent measures to contain Covid-19.
For this reason, the Cura Italia Decree-Law in Title V, introduced, with art. 89, important measures to support the above-mentioned sectors, establishing the Emergency Fund for entertainment, cinema and audiovisual, for a total of €130 million for the year 2020. The Fund is divided into two “subfunds”: the first of €80 million, for the current part, and the second of €50 million, for capital assistance.
For the distribution and allocation of resources to the beneficiary operators – including artists, authors, performers and performers – please refer to the specific MIBACT decree, to be adopted within thirty days from the date of entry into force of the law converting the Cura Italia decree.
These initiatives are flanked by other extraordinary measures for tourism and culture (other than the Emergency Fund for Entertainment and Cinema provided for by the aforementioned art. 89):
- EXTRAORDINARY INDEMNITIES FOR TOURISM AND CULTURE WORKERS
For workers in the tourism, culture, entertainment, cinema and audiovisual sectors, including workers without social security benefits. - PROTECTIONS AND SOCIAL SHOCK ABSORBERS
Extension of social shock absorbers also to seasonal workers in tourism and entertainment and interventions in favour of authors, artists, performers and agents. - SUPPORT FOR CULTURE, ENTERTAINMENT AND TOURISM BUSINESSES
Suspension of withholding payments, and a series of contributions and insurance premiums. - RELAUNCH OF THE IMAGE OF ITALY IN THE WORLD
Realization of an extraordinary campaign to promote Italy in the world, also with tourist and cultural purposes. - VOUCHERS FOR CINEMA, THEATRES, MUSEUMS AND CONCERTS TICKETS
Refunds with vouchers already provided for cancelled travel and package tours for the Covid-19 emergency are extended to tickets for shows, cinemas, theatres, museums and other cultural venues. - VOUCHERS ALSO FOR HOTELS
Reimbursements with vouchers already provided for trips and cancelled tourist packages for the health emergency also include accommodation contracts.
