European Corporate Insights: the impact of geopolitical changes on business
Andersen’s European Corporate & M&A department has published a new edition of the magazine European Corporate Insights focusing on the impact of major geopolitical changes on local and international business dynamics.
Andersen professionals from numerous countries contributed to the insight, summarizing the guidelines and regulations in each jurisdiction. Extensive space in the magazine is devoted to important world events of the recent period, including the pandemic, the war in Ukraine, and rising energy prices and the regulatory responses given to these emergencies.
The Italian scenario
Italian partner Francesco Inturri, a lawyer with expertise in corporate law, trade agreements and industrial property protection, explains how the main consequences of world events on our economy are the continuous increase in the prices of energy, agricultural products and metal and the consequent difficulties in carrying out activities related to them. From a legal point of view, the current dynamics require reconsideration of the responsibilities of defaulting companies, whose work is strongly influenced by the global situation and who could therefore invoke the force majeure clause.
